Summary
As part of the Legal Communication Design Center, we deal with the use of socially oriented design doctrines to solve problems by diagnosing them and providing easy-to-use solutions for business and society. We work based on the principles of participatory (co-design) and socially engaged design (humanity centered design), acting as external advisors (design consulting) and researchers (research & development), looking for answers on how to propose conscious change through design instead of actionist actions. We cooperate with organizations that are aware of the importance of building a clear, transparent and consistent profile and communication (including visual communication), as well as those that care about socially and environmentally sensitive design. Our partners include non-governmental organizations (Office of the Ombudsman, Krzyżowa Foundation, WWF), local government or government institutions (Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Department of Sustainable Development of the City of Wrocław, Department of Wrocław 2050 Strategy), companies (Credit Agricole, Merc, Maspex, ING, NEONET, PDG and others), and other research centers (The NuLawLab). Within the center, we develop two research and development paths: 1) legal design path, within which we deal with broadly understood access to law, searching for social innovations at the intersection of law, social communication and graphic design. 2) the design studies path addresses research and theoretical issues on the way to the paradigmization of design as a scientific discipline - we are particularly interested in alternative design doctrines (transformation design, socially sensitive design) and design education.
