- Artificial intelligence: This line is focused on applied artificial intelligence research. We have been researching in this field for 40 years, particularly applying computer vision, machine learning, neural networks, intelligent agent technology, computational intelligence and other artificial intelligence paradigms in different domains, including engineering.
- Big Data, Simulation and Data Architectures: The activity in this line focuses on research into Big Data, building flexible and scalable software solutions with the primary objective of explaining and predicting the behavior of populations of individuals, infrastructures, or devices. through the process and analysis of data, generally with simulation techniques and AI. The second objective of the research work is that this software improves the management or design of a system when the knowledge that resides in the data emerges.
- Neural networks and natural language processing: This research line is focused to the development of new neural network architectures to solve specific problems. Among them, certain processes of intelligent systems such as attention or memory that allow managing large volumes of data for decision making, or the study, development and evaluation of new methodological approaches such as those based on the modularization of neural networks for their training. In addition, work is being done on natural language processing with neural network architectures and particularly on the management of dialogue in conversational agents (chatbots).
