Summary
- Social Economy and Employability: The aim of this line is to study a model of economic and organisational development based on the social economy. This model contributes to sustainable development, dignifying work and giving people a leading role as agents of social change through social innovation, with values and commitments to the environment at its core. It also aims to analyse and promote organisational models based on cooperative and collaborative relationships, and to improve the skills needed for employability, addressing the social challenges posed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG2030).
- Inequality and education: Public policy choices must be made on the basis of appropriate evaluation and rigorous analysis of results, always looking for elements that can improve the efficiency and equity of the system, and always taking into account the role of social inequalities. Consequently, this line of research addresses the social challenges related to the analysis of social inequality as a structuring factor that shapes social opportunities, which is internalised and faced in a differentiated way, and to the analysis of the education system as a key element for the social and economic development of a country in the medium and long term. On the one hand, the aim is to identify the specific characteristics and the implications for the different social actors and their response strategies. On the other hand, the analysis of the different stages of education is addressed in order to identify, among other things, the factors that influence educational performance, repetition, family expectations and teacher satisfaction, as well as the assessment of competences for employability and the quality of labour market insertion.
