- Motivation and physical exercise: Development, validation and analysis of psychometric properties of instruments for psychological assessment in sport and physical exercise context. Analysis of factors that promote the motivation and lead to greater performance and psychological well-being. Development of intervention programmes to improve motivation in the physical exercise and sport context.
- Learning and personality development in exclusion contexts: This research line investigates the interaction between the social context and the psychological development of the child and the adolescent. We intend to elaborate hypotheses about the influence of invalidating environments on the development of basic and superior psychological processes. Explanatory hypotheses about atypical development in contexts of poverty, child maltreatment and helplessness. Based on the evidence, it is intended to create novel learning procedires, training and psychoeducational strategies that allow reducing the damage of social exclusion on the individual, that improve the social and scholastic competence of young people in social exclusion or at risk of suffering it.
- Inclusive education, language difficulties and teacher training: The works collected in this line fit into the approach of Inclusive Education. These tackle aspects related to teacher training and the education response to people with education needs in family and school contexts. They centre, particulary, on language difficulties. The intervention is considered from the curriculum and education collaboration. These issues also cover aspects related to teacher training.
- Use of teaching materials, resources and educational scenarios and their link with the motivational variable: This line of research focuses on determining how to learn and improve L1 with the implementation of emerging resources (realia materials with writing, authentic materials,...) as well as learning sessions, and technology scenarios (SLE, Edublog, web pages) that also increase a greater involvement of the learner in the educational commitment.
- School efficacy: Years of education is a factor that affects life expectancy and quality. Unfortunately, drop-out and repetition rates are far from what is desired. It is therefore essential to find malleable factors that can improve drop-out and repetition rates. From this line of research, factors such as the didactic quality or the communicative style of the Secondary Education teachers have been studied in depth.
