Summary

- Inactive cognition in translation and interpretation: Empirical research of interpreting and translation processes from an enactive, embodied, embedded, affective and extended perspective on cognition.http://hdl.handle.net/10553/114186
- Linguistics, cognition and communication: This line of research focuses on discourse as a social practice and, consequently, as a result of a threefold linguistic, cognitive and social dimension. From this point of view, conceptualising operations human beings activate when using language are also analised. These cannot and should not be dealt with, while neglecting their relationship with their other cognitive capacities and their environment.
- Applied linguistics: This line of research aims to help understand aspects such as the impact public policies and social changes have on language. It deals with texts corpora in context, which will contribute to social development.
- Cognitive grammar and discourse analysis: This line of research analyses discourse in order to determine how different cognitive cultural models and ideologies influence the texts speakers shape. Elements from disciplines such as cognitive grammar and discourse critical analysis are used in this task.
