- Poetics: This line of research attempts to analyze the work of U.S. Modernist poets in order to gauge the following: in what ways has Hispanic history, art and culture catalyzed the flowering and evolution of such a seminal poetic group, one which will pave the way for new literary groups connected to a new poetics. No such studies have been attempted so far. Most of the studies dealing with this subject have been carried out from a purely anthropological angle or from the point of view of the social sciences. On the other hand, the few poetical studies we count with fall short at trying to provide new insights from a broader, cross-cutting perspective.
