Summary

The main area of specialization of the planned center will be scientific research and development work on the dynamics of peer groups: children, teenagers and young adults. Activities will concern the school context, educational and sports institutions, alternative peer groups, as well as family support. We plan to pay special attention to negative interpersonal phenomena: bullying - torment and peer persecution defined as a social process embedded in an educational institution in which a person with a lower social position is intentionally, systematically and long-term persecuted and excluded by other students. Due to the harmfulness and commonness of this phenomenon, the aim of our activities will be to develop, test and implement preventive and intervention solutions.
The long-term goal of the planned research center is to develop a new way of researching the phenomenon of bullying, taking into account the context systems and experience (interpretation) of the victim (and thus moving away from focusing on the behavioral aspects of the phenomenon).
